It is
located on the River Eden, between Gateside and Auchtermuchty. The village became a burgh of barony in the
16th
century,
by which time it belonged to the Scotts of Balwearie. Prior to the Reformation it was the site
of a
Collegiate
church. The Edenhead and Strathmiglo Parish Church was built by George Kilgour in 1784. Scottish gravestones.
