Abercorn Scotland

Abercorn Parish Church, Scotland, dates partially from the twelth century, although its most interesting features are the private aisles created for the three major families of the area, the Dalyells, the Hamiltons, and later the Hopes. The Hope mausoleum, is located in the churchyard.

Abercorn Churchyard, Scotland, has some interesting seventeenth 17th century gravestones, together with the burial vault of the Dalyells of the Binns built in 1623. Discretely hidden behind the east wall of the kirkyard lies the Hopetoun Mausoleum, the burial place of the Marquesses of Linlithgow, designed by William Burn.
