Balloch
Balloch
is situated on the River Leven at the south end of Loch Lomond;
a focus for trips on the Loch. For many years in the 20th century
it had large silk—printing
works. It now has Loch
Lomond Shores, a visitor centre at one of the gateways to
the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Balloch
Castle (1809) was designed by Robert Lugar in castellated
Gothic style; it houses the visitor centre for the Balloch Castle
Country Park.
The
Cameron House Country Estate stands on the peaceful southern
shores of Loch Lomond and is conveniently located just 20 minutes
from Glasgow Airport. This exclusive 5 star, 96-bedroom hotel
provides an inspirational setting offering deluxe accommodation,
award winning cuisine and superb sporting and leisure facilities.
The
Winnock Hotel. Dominating the picturesque village green
and dating back to the 18th century, the Winnock Hotel is the
ideal location for visiting the Highlands, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
The hotel has historic charm with open fires, oak beams and
a friendly relaxed welcome. Loch Lomond is just 3 miles away.
Buchanan
Arms Hotel. The attractive Buchanan Arms Hotel is only a
few miles from Loch Lomond and the Trossachs and is an ideal
base for touring the surrounding area being close to historic
Stirling, "Braveheart Country" and only 18 miles from
