 Glimpses
of Old Dalbeattie and District (Dumfries & Galloway Through
the Lens S.)
The photographs in this volume have been collected by members
of the Dalbeattie Museum Trust and its President Tommy Henderson.
Many were originally reproduced as postcards which were enormously
popular in the early part of the twentieth century, until superseded
by widespread use of the telephone. Other photographs in this
volume are from private collections and were taken for different
reasons - people rather than places, special events, school
class photographs etc. which guarantees an unusually varied
selection of images of Dalbeattie and its surrounding area.
