Dupplin Cross
Dupplin
Cross Magnificent 9th century stone cross, sculpted with panels
of interlace decoration, animals, harpist, foot soldiers and
a mounted horseman. Formerly it stood on the hillside above
the River Earn, overlooking the site of the royal palace of
Forteviot, but it is now in the care of Historic Scotland within
St Serf’s Church at Dunning in Perthshire. Traces of an
inscription in Latin refer to Constantine (d.820).
