Elgol
Elgol
is a small village on The Island of Skye, at the tip of the
Strathaird Peninsula. It provides spectacular views of the Cuillins,
and is the starting-point for trips to Loch Coruisk. One cave
nearby was a hiding place for Prince Charles Edward Stewart
in 1746, and another, the Spar
Cave, is referred to by Sir Walter Scott in The Lord of the
Isles.
