Gleneagles
Golf Breaks. Gleneagles is the host to three championship
courses and the delightful nine hole "Wee Course".
The courses were the inspiration of two of the world's most
famous golfers; James Braid, five times winner of the Open,
designed the King's and Queen's and Jack Nicklaus created The
PGA Centenary Course.
King's
Course - The 6,741 yard King's Course was opened in 1919 and
is a regular host of the Scottish Open. Lee Trevino, when he
first played the King's, remarked, "If heaven is as good
as this, I sure hope they have some tee-times left". 18
holes. Par 70. 6,471 yds. Moorland.
The
Queen's - The natural beauty of the 5,965 yard Queen's has inspired
many of the world's top professionals. Threading through high
ridges on the north and west sides of the estate the Queen's
offers lovely woodland settings with lochans and ditches, as
well as many moorland characteristics. 18 holes. Par 68. 5,965
yds. Moorland.
PGA
Centenary - The The PGA Centenary Course plays between 5,065
and 7,081 yards, due to five optional tees at each hole, and
from the back tees is the longest inland course in Scotland.
Nicklaus combined the best of the earlier designs to create
a modern classic that offers a challenge to all abilities of
golfer, testing even the greatest players! 18 holes. Par 72.
6,559 yds. Moorland.
Wee
Course - The fun, par 3 Wee Course is a light alternative for
both beginners and experts. It recalls the original nine-hole
course at Gleneagles, constructed in 1928 by the head greenkeeper,
George Alexander, and staff from the hotel. 9 holes. Par 27.
2,962 yds. Parkland.
