MK I Brake Coach 'The Caledonian' which commenced service between
London and Scotland on 17 June 1957 was a successor to 'The
Coronation Scot' which had ceased on the outbreak of the Second
World War. This Great British Train pack features a powerful
Duchess Class locomotive with both loco and coaches in the BR
livery of the late 1950's. With the addition of further coaches,
available in the R4177 coach pack, a representation of 'The
Caledonian' in its early days of operation can be achieved.
An etched brass 'Caledonian' name board for locating the smokebox
door is included. This Great British Train is produced as a
Limited Edition of 3000 only, and the pack includes a numbered
certificate of authenticity.
