James Frazier
(1854—1941)

Anthropologist

Author of The Golden Bough: A Study in Comparative Religion, a 12-volume work stuffed with customs and practices from around the world, and source of great inspiration for many writers, including Conrad, Eliot, Lawrence and Yeats, as well as an enormous popular success. Despite the breadth of his scope, his ideas soon fell out of date.
