Pioneer
of neurosurgery
Under the influence of Lister, William MacEwen chose a career
in surgery, later becoming the first dedicated neurosurgeon.
But his success and advances were not
just in neurosurgery, and he devised new procedures from a cure
knock-knees and hernias, to bone grafts.
