One of Scotlands most noted architects. Along with Mackintoshs,
his was the first distinctively Scottish style to emerge for
over a century. He took on a variety of commissions, from Rowallan
Castle in Ayrshire, to rows of colonies cottages for craftsmen
in Edinburgh. Two of Lorimers most famous public works
are also in Edinburgh: in the Thistle Chapel in St Giles
Cathedral, and the National War Memorial at the Castle.
