Roxburghe Golf Breaks

Roxburghe Golf Breaks. The Roxburghe - The Roxburghe is an exceptional parkland layout situated on the banks of the River Teviot and surrounded by natural woodland. The estate is owned by the Duke of Roxburghe and he was determined to make this course a few notches above the rest. So, he commissioned Dave Thomas of Belfry fame to make the most of a landscape ideally suited for the purpose. The result of Thomas' design is inspiring with numerous mammoth sized bunkers, wide and rolling fairways and strategically placed water features. At 7,111 yards, it's a challenging course although with the fairways generally on the wide side, it is also most suitable for the amateur golfer. In 2002 Roxburghe entered Golf World's top 100 in the British Isles; it is also the only championship course in the Scottish Borders. An immediate hit with pro golfers such as Colin Montgomerie, the course record is held by Sergio Garcia with a 6 under par 66. 18 holes. Par 72. 7,111 yds. Parkland / Woodland.

Duns Golf Breaks. Duns - Well kept course suitable for experienced players and beginners. Upland course with views south to the Cheviots. Few bunkers, but the burn running through the course is a feature. 18 holes. Par 70. 6,209 yds. Upland / Hill.

Hawick Golf Breaks. Hawick - Gradual inclining hill course with panoramic views of surrounding countryside. Well-maintained course with challenging holes each totally different in character. 18 holes. Par 68. 5,929 yds. Upland / Hill.

Hirsel Golf Breaks. Hirsel - A parkland course of outstanding natural beauty with the Cheviot Hills in panoramic view. Offering a challenge to the accomplished golfer, it is yet not intimidating for the higher-handicap player. 18 holes. Par 70. 6,111 yds. Parkland.
