North Queensferry

North Queensfery

North Queensferry is a village of moderate extent, nine miles north of Edinburgh, in the county of Fife, situated on the Forth, exactly opposite to the royal borough of South Queensferry; between which there were regular passage-boats. This little village had a pompous local government, and united with Stirling, Dumfermline, lnverkeithing, and Culross, in returning one Member to Parliament. It derives its name from Margaret, Queen of Malcolm Kenmore, who had frequented the passage.
