Edinburgh-born Thomas Connery worked in a variety of jobs, including
stints as a coffin polisher and milkman before breaking into
showbusiness. His big break was as James Bond in Dr No (1962),
a part he made his own. He broke from Bond to do a range of
work, and has won a BAFTA for his part in The Name of the Rose,
and an Oscar for The Untouchables. He is the worlds most
famous living Scot.
