Garry and Loch Garry Scotland

Loch Garry and Glen Garry, near Fort Augustus, Scotland. 10x8 Photograph (25x20cm) Loch Garry and Glen Garry from Robert Harding
.
Glen Garry, in old Inverness-shire, Scotland. This is the valley of the River Garry which flows east
from Loch Quoich to Loch Garry. It belonged to
the MacDonnells of Glengarry. Their chief raised a regiment,
the Glengarry Fencibles, in 1774. Between 1802 and 1804 many
of the Glengarry Fencibles emigrated to Glengarry County, Ontario,
where the regiment was re-formed and fought against the American
invaders in the war of 1812.
Loch Garry, Scottish Gaelic, Loch Garraidh, is north of Fort William, Lochaber, Scotland. It is fed by waters from Loch Quoich upstream on the River Garry, and drains into Loch Oich in the Great Glen downstream. Loch Garry is much photographed from the A87 for its romantic setting and also because a quirk of perspective makes it appear like a map of Scotland.
